Bio
I’m Karen Newton, a Product Designer with 10+ years of experience crafting intuitive, scalable digital experiences across mobile, web, and enterprise platforms.
I started my career in product design before moving into UX, where I found my passion — understanding people, solving complex problems, and turning research into experiences that genuinely work. I’ve designed for global brands like Vodafone, working on products used by millions of people across multiple markets, as well as for start-ups and non-profits where every design decision really counts.
I believe great design is never just about how something looks — it’s about how it works, who it works for, and whether it delivers real value. That means being rigorous about research, honest about data, and committed to accessibility and inclusive design from the very start of a project.
These days I’m also actively integrating AI tools into my design workflow — using them to accelerate research, ideation and prototyping while keeping the human insight front and centre

I adapt my process to the nature of each project, but I always lead with curiosity and empathy. I’m comfortable working at every stage — from early concept and journey mapping through to high-fidelity UI and developer handoff — and I thrive in collaborative, cross-functional teams where design has a real seat at the table.
